From SCDEW: New Electronic Payment Method for Claimant Wage Garnishments

The following was provided by the South Carolina Department of Employment & Workforce Development

SC DEW would like to announce that employers now have an additional option to make Wage Garnishment payments electronically. Access your Employer Self-Service (ESS) portal and select the link Wage Garnishment Payments under the Actions Required section. Making Wage garnishment payments through your payroll service/third party vendor, if they do not have access to your ESS portal, they can follow the Guest Payment link located on the DEW website at https://scuihub.dew.sc.gov/ESS/WageGarnishmentPayment.htm. From either location, you enter the information on the individuals you will be making a payment for and navigate to the online payment portal to make the payment. SC DEW utilizes SC.GOV for online payments*.

All wage garnishment correspondence must still be completed and returned to the Department by mail. Electronic payment processing is optional.  If desired, you can continue to mail garnishment payments via check.

Follow the prompts to speak with a representative regarding a debt, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

* SC.GOV does charge a service fee for both online payment types of credit/debit card (1.7% of total payment amount plus $1.00) and ACH electronic check ($2.50 flat fee). For additional information regarding service fees, please contact SC.GOV at 1-803-771-0131 x-1.
