He has experience with construction and real estate companies, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities and manufacturing companies. Tyler has served banking clients ranging in size from de novo status to $39 billion in assets.

Tyler has provided both public and private clients with a wide range of services, including external audits, outsourced internal audits and various consulting services and solutions. In addition, Tyler also has several years’ experience with auditing employee benefit plans.

Under limited supervision, must be mentally and physically capable of establishing and administering Florence County’s financial operations in areas such as financial report preparation, budget preparation, budget planning and control, accounting, payroll and accounts payable as well as EMS billing.  Supervises professional and clerical personnel in the performance of various financial management functions.  Supervises other departments/divisions as assigned by County Administrator. Performs related duties as required. Reports to the County Administrator.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance or accounting supplemented by six to nine years of governments accounting, financial accounting and budgeting, three to five of which have been in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  CPA certification preferred.

GREENWOOD COUNTY is currently recruiting for the following position:

ASSISTANT COUNTY TREASURER

Greenwood County is currently seeking the services of a qualified Assistant Treasurer to join the County and to make a substantial contribution to the betterment of the lives of the County’s residents. As a progressive community located in the upstate of South Carolina, with a population of more than 70,000, Greenwood County serves as the economic epicenter for the region. The ideal candidate, under limited supervision, will assist the Treasurer in developing and enforcing office policy, as well as long-range planning, while demonstrating independent judgement, complex problem solving and strong management skills. In addition, the Assistant Treasurer will supervise, plan and direct the activities of subordinate professional and clerical personnel. Additional key requirements include a strong background in the direction of Accounts Payable and Receivable, Grant Management, Accounting, Payroll, and Management of County funds, as well as funds of other entities for which the County acts as agent. This position is highly visible and demands excellence in communication and presentation abilities. The Assistant Treasurer position is on a fast track to assume the duties of the Treasurer which is an appointed position and as such has full responsibility for all functions of County government related to Tax Collection, Treasury Management, Audit, Budgeting and Financial Reporting.

Minimum Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Finance or closely related field, supplemented by four years’ experience in municipal or county finance, working knowledge of the South Carolina property tax system or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Training and Experience: CPA and experience in governmental and funding accounting desired.

CPFO or CGFM and experience with Munis software a plus.

Salary: $65,003 – $97,504
