About SCACPA

Our members’ professional growth and continued success is at the core of all the Association’s decisions and actions. The leaders listed below represent our membership and steer the Association towards success.

Members depend on us to be the strongest voice for the profession in the State, to protect and to promote the value of the CPA credential. We do this with an eye on the future, always looking beyond the status quo to identify new ways of providing value to our members.

Executive Commitee

The role of the executive committee is to act on behalf of the Board during the interim time between Board meetings. The committee is comprised of the Board Officers and the CEO. This committee provides a conduit between the membership and the SCACPA staff.

Cheryl serves as Vice President and CFO for Tindall Corporation. Her duties include oversight of finance, accounting, and information technology. Cheryl received a BS in Accounting at East Tennessee State University and an MBA from Clemson University. She started her career in public accounting working for both Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse.

Dr. Coleman has been a practicing CPA in the state of South Carolina for more than 25 years. Dr. Coleman obtained his bachelor degree in accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. He received a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Atlanta University’s Graduate School of Business and was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from the University of South Carolina.

Zoe has over 19 years of accounting experience, with several years in auditing and consulting services for employee benefit plans, nonprofit organizations and homeowner associations. She has been a CPA since 1999 and a Certified Fraud Examiner since 2006. Zoe earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University. She is actively involved in her community as a member of the Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant and treasurer for the TriCounty Human Resources Management Association.

Penny is a sole practitioner and has owned her own business for over 30 years, moving from Greenville to Isle of Palms. Penny is an S.C. native and received her bachelor’s degree from Furman University. In addition to her service on the SCACPA board of directors, she was treasurer for the Charleston American Marketing Association and a member of the Isle of Palms Planning Commission.

Chris is the chief executive officer for the Association and reports to the board of directors. As CEO, Chris leads strategic planning initiatives, fosters relationships with strategic partners, and promotes and develops member services.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of SCACPA. Board members are responsible for overseeing the Association’s activities and act as liaisons to chapter leadership. The SCACPA Board is comprised of members throughout the state with a diverse set of skills and talents that represent the diversity of our membership.

Suzanne has over 25 years of experience in accounting, with 12 years at Duke Energy in corporate finance and cash management before joining Bernard N. Ackerman, CPA, PA in 1998. Suzanne now works for The Springs Company in Fort Mill. A native of Richburg, SC, she has dedicated her time to multiple civic and philanthropic organizations including Children’s Attention Home, St. John’s United Methodist Church, Junior Welfare League, Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, and a member of the board for the Rock Hill Area Chamber of Commerce.

Lesley is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business. She had six years of governmental accounting experience with the City of Sumter prior to joining McGregor in 1999. Lesley was admitted as partner in the firm in 2007, where she is responsible for Audit & Assurance, review, compilation, tax services, among her many duties. Lesley has received Ambassador Training through AICPA and currently serves on the Governmental Tax Force committee for SCACPA. In addition, Lesley served as President of the Central Chapter of SCACPA in 2007.

Brad has over 17 years of experience with Dixon Hughes Goodman, the last 11 years with DHG Search Advisors and 6 years before that as an auditor. Brad serves a wide range of industries, including Healthcare, Manufacturing, Construction, Service, and others. The level of positions Brad supports range from Staff to CFO. Brad has served on many non-profit boards and industry associations. He is actively involved in community organizations and has served on the IMA Carolinas Council, as President of the IMA and as a Loaned Executive for United Way.

He spent 13 years with the South Carolina Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve as a computer and cryptographic systems technician. He has been in public accounting for more than 14 years providing professional services to various clients in a wide array of industries.

Graham is currently an executive director in EY’s national professional practice with a focus on quality and regulatory matters.

Jacque is responsible for accounting, finance, membership, professional education and operations. She has over 25 years of accounting and finance experience working with both nonprofit and for profit organizations. Jacque is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s in accounting.

Lisa serves as SCACPA’s VP of Membership and Communication. Her overall goal is to make sure SCACPA Members have the tools and resources they need to advance in their career. Lisa is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she earned a bachelor’s in public relations.

Greg’s mission is to keep you updated on all of the Association’s initiatives and to make sure members are getting the industry, legislative and best practices news they need. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and master’s in mass communications at the University of Florida.

Jasmine is a recent University of South Carolina graduate with a degree in Advertising, and she is excited for the ways that helping Association members will help her grow professionally. Away from the office, she volunteers at the Pawmetto Lifeline animal shelter in Irmo.
Brook Mixson
Brook MixsonMembership Experience Assistant
Brook serves the Membership and Communications departments. Born and raised in rural Estill, South Carolina, she is the oldest of six and a first-generation college graduate. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications. When she isn’t spending time at home with family and friends, Brook can be found watching The Office and daydreaming about the beach.

Jeff is a native of Columbus, Ohio, who graduated high school with a certificate in art and design along with a handful of art awards. Before joining SCACPA to handle the Association’s technology and multimedia needs, he was a disability art teacher and mental health advisor.
Melissa Gable

Melissa is a South Carolina native and resides in Lexington. Prior to joining SCACPA, Melissa gained bookkeeping experience in the construction industry. Melissa is studying accounting through the University of Alabama Birmingham’s Collat School of Business.
Renee Allen-Joye

Renee is an Atlanta native who has lived in Columbia since April 2003. She is a graduate of Morris Brown College and president of the Columbia Urban League Guild. She has one son and enjoys traveling with her loving mother and two grandchildren.
Alex Pierce

Alexandria is an enthusiastic University of South Carolina College of Hospitality graduate. She has a passion for event planning and is looking forward to creating a wonderful learning experience for SCACPA Members. She is dedicated to giving her time and talents to others, which she carries out with organizations such as Junior League and Harvest Hope. Alexandria enjoys spending time with family and dining with friends. She is the mother of three beautiful children whom she adores and spoils rotten.
