Young Professionals of CPAs, Bankers, Lawyers Invited to Networking Social Night on Nov. 8

A CPA, a banker and a lawyer walked into a bar …

Well, an historic aircraft hanger converted into a craft brewery, to be specific.

The South Carolina Association of CPAs is partnering with the SC Bankers Association and the SC Bar Young Lawyers Division for a joint professional development night on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Hunter Gatherer Brewery at the Curtiss-Wright Hangar, across from City Roots.

Join us for a fun night out of camaraderie, networking, relaxing and seeing first-hand how business laws and regulations have turned an historic South Carolina aviation and architecture landmark into an exciting new venue and meeting spot in Columbia.

Space is limited. Please register for the Young Professionals Development and Social Event (MESO01) by copying and pasting this link into your browser: form.jotform.com/82674357045159

Speaking at the event will be Lauren Acquaviva, the former SC Department of Revenue General Counsel who now works for the law firm of Chillico & Associates LLC in Mount Pleasant. There will be a 15- to 20-minute discussion on the new state law that allowed the Hunter-Gatherer Brewery to exist as well as the three-tier and tasting laws that are specific to our South Carolina that apply to breweries and distilleries.

For those interested, we are working on arranging a tour of the facility. The hangar, built in 1929 by the Curtiss-Wright Flying Service, was the first building at Owens Field, a municipal airport then three miles south of the city limits. The hangar was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 and opened as a brew pub in January.

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 8, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Hunter Gatherer Brewery at the Curtiss-Wright Hanger (1402 Jim Hamilton Blvd., Columbia 29205)
