CEO Chris Jenkins has been working daily on conformity.  We believe the legislature will make conformity happen in some form, but we are unsure as to when.

We did learn that the 3% Sales Tax on Services has been deferred to 2019.

Invitations to Central Chapter area legislators are being mailed and hand-delivered this week.  Key Person Contacts have been notified of the Meet & Greet event taking place on March 29 at the Blue Marlin in Columbia’s Vista.

The membership team added 39 student members last week.

We have updated the Student Scholarship Information page. SCACPA will begin accepting applications in the next couple weeks for the 2018-19 school year.

SCACPA welcomed two new campus Champions last week from Converse and SC State University.

Materials were provided for career day presentations.

Content Strategist Gregory Hardy developed press release messaging targeted at other professional associations about SCACPA’s transition to All-Inclusive Membership. By being proactive about educating the professional associations in South Carolina and across the nation about our new initiatives, we hope to show that our success can be a model worthy of being emulated.

The Membership and Communications Team has been hard at work on Spring Splash promotional materials as well as the CPA Report and other weekly electronic communications such as Current Assets, Catawba Chapter Connections and Central Chapter Connections.

The CPE Team has also been working on creating member satisfaction surveys for all events.

CPE Manager Renee Allen-Joye is working to securing speakers for our conferences and seminars.  She is also on the lookout for a band to play at our Pig-Pickin’ on May 17 in Greenville.  Please let us know if you have any recommendations.

Members of the CPE team attended the CPE FOOD Group Meeting in New Orleans. Each year, CPA associations and societies gather their CPE departments to share ideas and resources.

We are arranging great sponsors and exhibitors for the Spring Splash and Pig-Pickin’.  Representatives from our fantastic Affinity Partners and some new vendors will be available to talk to members at the conference. SCACPA has been working on plans to market the Catawba Chapter’s Meet the Mayor Event on March 22, as well as the promotion of the Central Chapter’s Family Day at Saluda Shoals on May 12.

Finance has posted chapter bank statements via SCACPA Connect.  They are working on February month-end tasks to prepare for financials.
