SCACPA and its Advocacy partners have reached a major milestone in Conformity legislation. Conformity Bill H. 5162 was introduced by House Ways and Means Committee Chair Brian White (R-Anderson) on Tuesday, March 20. This is a bill we have actively endorsed and advocated for.
Central Chapter members can help Conformity become law this year by attending the “Meet Your Legislators” Event on March 29 at the Blue Marlin in Columbia’s Vista, where the main topic of discussion will be Tax Conformity.

CEO Chris Jenkins has had a busy week with several meetings. The first was with NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy).
There will be another meeting with Clemson University on a CPE partnership, and a meeting with the AICPA.
Chris is teaching a class at Winthrop University on Thursday, March 22.
CFO Jacque Curtin has a meeting with the Accounting Fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi.
Lisa McGee and Jacque Curtin have a call set up with the Bankers Association this week to discuss joint events.
Jacque is also reviewing our SCACPA Scholarship information and process.
Content Strategist Gregory Hardy is compiling stories for the March editions of the four editions of SCACPA’s Knowledge Network electronic newsletters and is collaborating with our off-site graphic designer to complete production of the First Quarter issue of CPA Report magazine.
