Week Aug. 27 – 31

ADVOCACY
CEO Chris Jenkins has a meeting on Tax Conformity on Tuesday. SCACPA will continue to stress the importance of Conformity to our state legislators.

COMMUNICATE
VP of Membership and Communications Lisa McGee is working on a tribute to Past Chair McRoy Skipper, who tragically passed away in a multi-vehicle car accident in North Carolina.

Content Strategist Gregory Hardy is editing the final stages of our Q3 issue of the South Carolina CPA Report magazine.

Staff will continue to make courtesy calls to our members who have not yet renewed for 2018-19.

IT and Communications Assistant Jeff has finished the design for a postcard introducing our latest membership benefit of Surgent On-Demand Self-Study courses! This will be hitting your mailbox soon.

Jeff will also work on the creation of a new Fall Fest landing page for our website and the design layout for a marketing guide that will be given to potential sponsors.

EDUCATE
CPE manager Renee continues to meet with potential sponsors for Fall Fest. She will also be scouting locations for our upcoming Staff retreat, scheduled for mid-September.

Renee will review the CPE survey results from our past events. We always strive to provide an amazing member experience.

CPE Assistant Alex will travel to be on-site coordinator during the week’s CPE event in Myrtle Beach. Alex also manually reconciles attendance for each course.

Remember to sign up for our new, free course, Complete Coverage of 199A Regulations on Sept. 20. There will be no deduction to your CPE Bank! Seats are filled in our Cayce office but there will be unlimited livestream for your convenience. Read the details.

CONNECT
Lisa is planning a young professional’s event with Bankers Association and the SC BAR.  They hope to arrange a learning session and tour of one of South Carolina’s newest craft beer brewing facility.

Communications Coordinator Jasmine, CFO Jacque and Gregory will attend the University of South Carolina’s Accounting School, “Friends of Accounting” kick-off event. This event is always a great time and allows us a way to get insight into the path accounting students take to their CPA.

Jasmine will work with Alex to review Chapter Officer event forms. These forms are the blueprints for upcoming chapter events. As the forms come in, Alex will review the needs of our Chapters and reach out with any questions or clarifications. Jasmine will then draft marketing copy and the communications team will review the best avenues to get the word out.
