Few of us want to think about our laptop being lost or stolen. But it’s critical to take preventive encryption steps to both safeguard your data – and make sure you can recover the data.

For this week’s SCACPA #TechTuesday, tech guru and SCACPA CEO Chris Jenkins starts by introducing you to the steps to turning on disk encryption and how to manage the Windows BitLocker encryption feature. You’ll also find out why Chris recommends printing out your recovery key for safekeeping.

In the second part of the video, Chris focuses on how to properly encrypt your portable devices such as USB Drives, which offer convenience for sharing data between computers but are also seen as such a security threat that many companies disable their use through the entire organization.
