• The new year is here! As in, the new 2020-21 year of SCACPA’s All-Inclusive Membership, which began July 1. We’re glad so many of you have been renewing your dues so you’ll be equipped with all the benefits SCACPA will offer.   • Happy Fourth of July! The SCACPA office will be closed to observe the Independence Day holiday on Friday, July 3. We will be glad to assist you when we return Monday, July 6.

  • BE SAFE: “What to Consider as Businesses Re-Open.” SCACPA partner Paychex has updated its human resources white paper on new precautions. Their eBook can help you identify what to plan for, with details about staffing considerations, workplace safety and privacy considerations and supporting employees as they return to work.
  • BE PREPARED: Hurricane season has arrived, make sure you review South Carolina’s 2020 Hurricane Guide. It is updated with precautions to remember should evacuations become necessary amid COVID-19 guidelines.


  • The SCDOR and IRS are offering tax relief for victims of the April 2020 tornadoes, severe storms and flooding that impacted nine South Carolina counties (Aiken, Barnwell, Berkeley, Colleton, Hampton, Marlboro, Oconee, Orangeburg and Pickens). Affected individuals and businesses have until Oct. 15, 2020, to file and pay certain taxes originally due April 12-Oct. 15. Relief is applied automatically to returns filed on MyDORWAY. To file by paper, mail your completed return to the address on the return. Then, submit a completed Disaster Relief Form (C-672) to Learn more about relief for SC taxes in Information Letter #IL20-16:
  • We’re promoting our #WhyCPA campaign to spread awareness about the differences between an accountant and a CPA, and why choosing a CPA is a smart long-term financial decision. We know choosing a CPA is the right decision, don’t you?


  • SCACPA is an IRS-approved provider for our tax CPE classes. Watch for more announcements and updates as we enter the 2020-21 CPE season starting July 1 with the new membership year.
  • SCACPA’s CPE Committee of 16 met (via online conferencing) to put the finishing touches on the 2020-21 CPE schedule, which will be unveiled as part of our membership dues renewal period.
