Assistant to Goldman Sachs Exec Tied to $1.2M Wine Theft

A man was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Jan. 16, on federal charges that he stole more than $1.2 million in wine when he was an assistant to Goldman Sachs Co-President David Solomon. Nicolas De-Meyer, 40, is accused of funneling the bottles to a North Carolina-based wine dealer. Of the hundreds of bottles alleged to have been stolen, prosecutors say Solomon’s seven bottles of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti — which had been purchased for $133,650, or roughly $19,092.86 per bottle — were taken in October 2016.
