Congratulations to McGregor & Company for being the recipient of SCACPA’s inaugural Community Connected Engagement Award for their work in assisting food banks near four of its offices throughout South Carolina during our October Month of Service.

More than 1,300 pounds of nonperishable items and canned goods were donated, surpassing the firm’s goal of 1,000 pounds. Clients, colleagues and friends donated items at the McGregor & Company offices in Barnwell, Columbia, Greenville and Orangeburg, to make the food drive a success.

The beneficiaries were Cans for Cans (Barnwell), Oliver Gospel Mission (Columbia), Loaves & Fishes Community Services (Greenville) and the Filling Station (Orangeburg).

“We are grateful to be able to contribute to the work that Loaves & Fishes does to feed the hungry right here in our Greenville Community,” the firm wrote on social media while sharing photos of the food pickup at the Greenville office.

SCACPA would like to thank all its members who got involved to help make October’s Month of Service a success. Through sales of 2018 “CPAs Give” T-shirts, we raised enough money to announce a named scholarship in memory of Past President H. McRoy Skipper Jr., CPA.

Year after year, South Carolina CPAs commit their time and energy to a countless number of worthy causes. We thought the time was right to create the Community Connected Engagement Award to tell the story of the hard work that makes the CPA profession well-known and well-respected in our communities.

Community involvement is critical to making South Carolina better for individuals and businesses. SCACPA is a strong and vibrant community thanks to everyone’s hard work.
