A group of House lawmakers introduced a Tax Conformity bill on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, that updates South Carolina to the Federal tax code through Feb. 9, 2018.

H. 5341 is sponsored by Reps. Jay Lucas, Brian White, J. Gary Simrill and Todd Rutherford. A previous Conformity bill, H. 5162 of straight Conformity, had been introduced by White in March.

[UPDATED THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2018:] Wednesday’s first roll call vote to recall the bill from committee was approved 113-0. The bill was approved again by roll call vote on Thursday. The bill requires one more House reading approval Friday, May 4, before it goes to the Senate for their debate and discussion. There are only a few days left in the legislative session before sine die resolutions must be ready on May 10.
