SCACPA was glad to hear the announcement by Gov. Henry McMaster and DHEC that all South Carolinians aged 16 and older will be eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations beginning Wednesday, March 31. For those not eligible for vaccinations when South Carolina began Phase 1b of its COVID-19 vaccination plan on March 8, scheduling for appointments begins Wednesday, March 31.
Online appointments can be made at scdhec.gov/vaxlocator. To find the location of a vaccination distributor by zip code, go to vaxlocator.dhec.sc.gov. You can also call DHEC’s COVID-19 Vaccine Information Line at 1-866-365-8110.
Pfizer is the only vaccine available to those aged 16-18. All three vaccines of Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen are available to everyone 18 and older.
SCACPA has been monitoring the vaccine rollout, and had alerted members that accounting professionals had been slated to be in South Carolina’s upcoming round of Essential Worker phases for mid-April.
According to CDC guidelines, here are instrictions on how to protect yourself and others once you’ve been fully vaccinated.
As always — STAY SAFE!
