Charles M. Redfern
2009 President
Charles "Charlie" M. Redfern is a sole practitioner in Rock Hill, SC. Charles received his BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Charles is a member of the Rock Hill Rotary Club and is currently on their Board of Directors. Timothy L. Baker
Vice President
Tim Baker is a principal in the firm Baker Consulting, LLC formed in 2002 as a professional consulting firm specializing in applying software solutions to solve business problems. Tim has 13 years of business consulting experience in the public and private sector combined with 10 years of system selection, design and implementation experience. Since becoming a member of SCACPA in 1995, Tim has been very active serving on the Information Technology, Accounting Careers and Finance Committees. Tim also has the CMA and CITP designations. Michael Putich
Secretary-Treasurer
Michael Putich is a partner at Robinson Grant & Co., the largest locally owned public accounting firm in Beaufort County. Michael specializes in accounting and auditing services as well as tax preparation and planning. He has served on several of SCACPA's committees and has been assigned to strengthen the SCACPA's relationship with the banking community. Michael is active in his local chapter and is currently the immediate past president of the Sea Island Chapter. Sylvia G. Kitchens
Past President
Sylvia G. Kitchens is the legislative liaison and senior consultant in the areas of budget, fiscal analysis and evaluations for the Office of Administration and the Office of the Agency Director at the Department of Juvenile Justice. Sylvia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Business Administration. Sylvia has worked with the South Carolina Office of the State Auditor where she served as Audit Supervisor. Sylvia is a member of the AICPA and the Government Finance Officers Association. She is active in the Central Chapter of SCACPA, where she has served as the CPE Coordinator, Secretary/Treasuer, Vice President and President. Catawba Chapter Representative
Anne Bunton works as a performance manager for the City of Rock Hill Finance Department. Prior to joining the city, she was the York County treasurer/finance director for 13 years and a staff CPA for a Myrtle Beach CPA firm for two years. Anne received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Winthrop College in 1987. She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1990 and a Certified Government Finance Officer since 1994. She is a 1997 graduate of Leadership York County.

Clarence Coleman, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Clarence Coleman is an accounting professor at Winthrop University. He earned a Ph.D. in accounting and a MBA from the University of South Carolina. He has been a member of SCACPA since 1979 and has held several leadership roles. He has served on several committees and task forces including: the Accounting Careers/Academic Relations Task Force, Editorial Board Task Force, Industry Task Force and the Membership and Benefits Committee. He is also a member of the CPA Ambassadors Program.

Alys Anne Dennis
Coastal Chapter Board Representative
Alys Anne Dennis is a shareholder in the accounting firm of Passailaigue & Dennis, PA, which is located in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Alys Anne graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Charleston Southern University, majoring in accounting and minoring in economics. Aside from her activity in the state association, Alys Anne has been very involved with the Coastal Chapter, serving as the President. She has chaired the Audit and the Governance and Restructuring Task Force committee. Alys Anne is a member of the Captive Insurance Task Force and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, holding the additional designation of CVA. J. Bratton Fennell
Grand Strand Chapter Representative
J. Bratton Fennell is the CFO at Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. in Myrtle Beach, SC. He has been a member of the South Carolina Association of CPAs since 1989. He serves on many committees and tasks forces along with serving on the Board. He is currently on the Technical Standards Committee, the Industry Task Force and the Behaviorial Standards Committee. Fennell is also actively involved in the Grand Strand Chapter where prior to being the board representative, he was the seceretary/treasurer.

J. Louis Grant
Sea Island Chapter Representative
Louis Grant has been a member of SCACPA since 1974 and served as President of the association in 1988. He has been involved in several different committees and task forces since joining SCACPA. He has served on the Membership Require Task Force, the Professional Relations Task Force and the Financial Planning for Disaster Task Force. He is also a contributor to SCACPA's Educational Fund that provides scholarships to outstanding accounting students across the state.

Malynda Grimsley

Malynda M. Grimsley, CPA, is a shareholder with The Hobbs Group, PA, a public accounting firm in Columbia, South Carolina. She is a 1992 graduate of Clemson University, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Malynda has more than 14 years experience serving a wide variety of clients in both the private and public sector. She has 10 years of public accounting experience and four years industry experience. Malynda is also a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia, and a member of the Columbia Estate Planning Council. She is active in the Women of the Church of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she served as treasurer for six years. Penny Lewis is a sole practitioner in Isle of Palms, SC where she started Penny A. Lewis, CPA, PA. Penny has been a member of SCACPA since 1981. She is very actively involved with the Coastal Chapter and has held several offices including president, vice president and secretary/treasurer. She is also a part of SCACPA's CPA Ambassadors program. Along with her involvement with the Coastal Chapter, she also serves on several committees and task forces.

Sharon Mann

Sharon Mann is the CFO at General Information Services, Inc., a company that specializes in employment screening for companies nationwide. Sharon received her BS in Accounting from the University of South Carolina. She has served on several SCACPA committees and has served as a Key Person Contact for several years. Sharon is also active in her local community, serving on the Boards for the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina and the Palmetto Aids Life Support Services. Michael Targia, CFA
Central Chapter Representative
Michael J. Targia, CPA is the Accounting and Auditing Manager at Kirkland, Thomas, Watson & Dyches, LLC. His professional experience includes providing professional services to a wide array of businesses. Mike has gained his experience from working in both public accounting and industry, specializing in construction, real estate, manufacturing, not-for-profit organizations, hospitality, employee benefit plans, auto and recreational vehicle dealerships, and distributors. Mike earned a bachelors degree at Johnson & Wales University. Mike is originally from New Jersey. He and his wife, Tara, and their two sons have lived in Columbia since 1997. Mike also has a degree in culinary arts and enjoys cooking and traveling.

L. Kent Satterfield

Kent serves as member-in-charge of the Western Carolinas region for Dixon Hughes, the Southeast's largest CPA firm. In his present position, Kent oversees 180 professionals and support staff in addition to providing financial, strategic and tax planning services to a cross-section of business and individual clients, and serving as a member of Dison Hughes' 12-member Esecutive Committee. Kent is also a Certified Financial Planner and a Personal Financial Specialist. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina, Kent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finanance and a Master of Science Degree in Accountancy.

Philip Snipes
Piedmont Chapter Representative
Philip Snipes is a managing partner at Ernst & Young LLP in Greenville, S.C. He joined SCACPA in 1981 and has served on several task forces including the State and Local Taxation Task Force and the Managing Partners Task Force. Snipes is also an active member of the Piedmont chapter and has been the Chapter Board Representative since 2006.

Robert Tilton

Robert M. Tilton, CPA, is a manger in the Audit Group of WebsterRogers, LLP, a regional accounting and consulting firm in eastern South Carolina. He has over seven years of public accounting experience primarily performing financial statement audits of privately held companies and employee benefit plans. Robert graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 1999, earning his BS in accounting. Carroll Webster is a managing partner at WebsterRogers, LLP, a public accounting firm with offices in Florence, Myrtle Beach, Georgetown and Sumter. He received his BS in Accounting and his MBA from the University of South Carolina. For the first part of Carroll’s career, he was an accounting professor. He has served on various community and civic group boards, and is currently serving as a member of the Francis Marion Foundation Board. Jada Wood
Foothills Chapter Board Representative
Jada Wood is a CPA at McAbee Talbert Halliday & Co., a public accounting firm in Spartanburg, SC. She focuses on tax and audits, specializing in government audits. She is a graduate of Converse College. Jada has served as the Foothills Chapter President. She is an active member of the Junior League of Spartanburg and the Chair of the Converse Fund for her class. She is a member of Northside Baptist church where she participates in the youth outreach ministry.

Erin Hardwick is executive director of the SCACPA. Prior to joining SCACPA, Erin was the executive director for the South Carolina Association of Non Profit Organizations, a position she held since the Association's founding in 1997. She is past board chair of the Lexington (SC) Chamber of Commerce; a 2004 graduate of the SC Executive Institute, a public administration sponsored by the SC Budget & Control Board and a graduate of two local leadership programs.
