CPA Month of Service

October is CPA Month of Service

SCACPA has designated October as CPA Month of Service. Members are encouraged to give back to their local community while increasing the visibility of the profession statewide. Anything you volunteer to do this October will help make a positive difference in the SC communities where you live and work!

Participate in SCACPA's 2017 CPAs Give

Together, we selected child and family services as our top cause for the 2017 October CPA Month of Service project. SCACPA has partnered with Children’s Trust of South Carolina, a statewide organization focused on the prevention of child abuse, neglect and injury and advocates for the overall well-being of children.

Let's pull together as a community and support this praiseworthy organization by purchasing a CPAs Give t-shirt.*Orders must be in by Friday, Sept. 15.

Send Us Your Photos and Videos

Wear your shirt this October during your chapter’s or company's service activities. Send pictures to communications@scacpa.org or post to social media, using the hashtag #CPASGive2017!

What is Children's Trust of SC?

Children's Trust of SC operates statewide in their mission to strengthen families and lead communities to prevent child abuse, neglect and injuries in South Carolina. Together, SCACPA members can help the organization reach their 10-year target of reducing confirmed cases of child abuse, neglect and unintentional injuries in South Carolina by 50 percent by 2023. Children’s Trust is a tax-exempt, charitable organization under Internal Revenue Service section 501(c)(3).

Success Stories from Children's Trust

A Home Visiting nurse began working with a young mother who truly wanted to build a better life for herself and her baby, but couldn't figure out how to get started and where to go. After working closely with the mother for a year and half, this nurse has guided her into becoming increasingly self-sufficient. The mom has gotten her own car, an apartment for her young family and is on track to earn her GED.

With our support, more children and young families across the state will benefit from home-visits, parenting classes, and other similar programs. SCACPA and Children's Trust of South Carolina- two great organizations working together for a vibrant and strong SC!
