We understand that many of our firms are struggling to meet the upcoming tax deadline due to evacuations, flooding and loss of power.

SCACPA has been in contact with the IRS, Legislators, the Governor’s Office and the SC DOR requesting tax relief for counties affected by Hurricane Irma. The Governor’s Office is currently in contact with FEMA and we hope to have more information for you soon.

As of today, Sept. 12, South Carolina has received an Emergency Declaration but has yet to receive a Disaster Declaration. Should we receive the Disaster Declaration by FEMA, and a tax extension is granted by the IRS, we have been assured that the SC DOR will immediately follow suit.

We will continue our efforts to provide assistance to firms affected by Hurricane Irma and will update you as soon as information become available.  If you would like to file for an extension, prior to a Declaration being made, you can contact the IRS Disaster line at 1-866-562-5227.
