Lynn Nichols has developed a reputation as a federal tax guru over the decades because he goes beyond explaining the mechanics of the code, he explains the concepts that make you better at analyzing the rules that provide you a level of mastery. Above all, the new laws affect tax planning for “average taxpayers.” Nichols will walk through the new rules for determining self-employment income from pass through entities, and he will show you the pitfalls of how the new rules match with existing law, such as passive activity loss limitations and AMT credit carryovers.
