General Sessions

This presentation will be an example-driven presentation utilizing current, real-life disbursement fraud tactics. We will address recent disbursement schemes we have encountered, what control weaknesses occurred allowing these schemes to take place, and suggestions on how to reduce the risk of similar schemes in your workplace.

This session will examine fraud trends, online account takeover fraud, impostor fraud and insurance solutions.

It can be a challenge to communicate data analytics compiled during investiations. During this session you will learn all of the skills needed to effectivly communicate complex data to the various people who need the results.

Examine the the South Carolina Department of Revenue, Office of Special Investigations, its mission, and types of criminal investigations that are commonly conducted by the unit. Focus on the crimes of identity fraud and safeguards the department has derived to combat fraudulent tax refund submissions. 

No matter how prepared you are, it's only a matter of time before your organization will have a cybersecurity incident. In this session, a panel of experts will help create a roadmap for an organizational cyberincident response plan. This will be an interactive session that will teach you how to create a cyberresponse and communications plan, so you will be prepared when a cyber incident occurs.
