Fraud Workshop: The Forensic Accounting Challenge (CN4123)

Thursday, April 27, 2017 | 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Registration at 8:00 AM) EST | Baxter Hood Conference Center York Technical College, Rock Hill

Instructor

Gary L. German, CPA

Description

Fraud is big business. By some estimates over $1 trillion is lost to fraud and theft each year.  Nevertheless, most fraud goes undetected. So, why don’t we see it?

“The Forensic Accounting Challenge” is a unique look at fraud and forensic accounting.  Gary German will share stories from his own experiences in fraud investigation and forensic accounting. You will learn why audits don’t find fraud and he’ll share with you his matrix approach to forensic accounting: a combination of financial analysis and the related inferential context to detect and investigate fraud.

Then you and your team will be plunged into the world of financial deceit and deception. You will be presented with a series of “situations” that you must investigate. The investigations will include identification of key data, analysis and conclusions. Your investigation will be evaluated and points awarded. A “Forensic Accounting Champion” will be crowned.

Are you up to the Challenge?
