SCACPA Scholarship Program
Accounting scholarships are available through the SCACPA Educational Fund and are awarded on an annual basis. Applications are due by June 1 preceding the start of the current academic year. Interested in applying? Download the application.

Qualifications:

  • South Carolina resident
  • Be a full-time student
  • Rising junior or senior majoring in accounting (or Master’s Degree student) at a South Carolina college or university.
  • GPA of no less than 3.25 overall (on a 4.0 scale).
  • GPA in accounting no less than 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Have at least one class in intermediate accounting or the equivalent.
  • Applications must be received complete with all attachments
Educational Fund Awards $29,500 in Scholarships to 25 Students
The South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) Educational Fund Trustees recently awarded $29,500 in scholarships to 25 students across the state. The scholarship recipients will be honored on Nov. 12, 2015 at the student recognition luncheon during SCACPA’s Annual Summit at the Columbia Marriott. The 2015-16 scholarship winners are:
  • Jacob Behal, of Simpsonville, a graduate at Clemson University and recipient of the Piedmont Chapter of SCACPA Scholarship.
  • Leonard B. Blanchard, of Orangeburg, a graduate student at the University of South Carolina and recipient of the Central Chapter of SCACPA Grad Scholarship.
  • James Carpenter, of Warrenville, a senior at University of South Carolina - Aiken and recipient of the Central Chapter of SCACPA Scholarship
  • Meagan DenOuden (Steers), of Rock Hill, a graduate student at Winthrop University  and recipient of two S.C. Association of CPAs scholarships.
  • Ashling Griffin, of Columbia, a graduate student at the University of South Carolina and recipient of the C.C. McGregor Scholarship and S.C Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Lindsey Hayes, of Charleston, a graduate student at College of Charleston and recipient of the Past Presidents Scholarship.
  • Oxana Hendrix, of North Myrtle Beach, a graduate student at Coastal Carolina University and recipient of the Lollie Harper Scholarship.
  • Lee Hewitt, of Timmonsville, a graduate student at Clemson University and recipient of a S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Tristan Howard, of Goose Creek, a senior at College of Charleston and recipient of the Coastal Chapter of SCACPA Scholarship and S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Kimberly Hrivnak, of Greer, a senior at College of Charleston and recipient of a S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Kristen Ince, of Simpsonville, a senior at Bob Jones University and recipient of a S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Adam Jackson, of West Columbia, a senior at the University of South Carolina and recipient of the Burkett, Burkett & Burkett, CPA, PA Scholarship and SCACPA Scholarship.
  • Amanda Johnson, of Gray Court, a junior at Clemson University and recipient of the S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Alicia Johnson, of Florence, a junior at Francis Marion University and recipient of the Burch Oxner Seale Scholarship.
  • Emily Jordan, of Simpsonville, a graduate student at Clemson University and recipient of the Brigman, Holcomb, Weeks Scholarship.
  • Oxana Kane, of Myrtle Beach, a graduate student at Coastal Carolina University and recipient of the S.C. Association of CPAs Grad Scholarship.
  • Haley Lundquist, of Myrtle Beach, a senior at College of Charleston and recipient of the WebsterRogers LLP Scholarship and S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.
  • Evan Mathis, of Fort Mill, a senior at Clemson University and recipient of the Kaye Carter Scholarship.
  • Colleen McBride, of Hilton Head Island, a senior at the University of South Carolina – Beaufort and recipient of the Sea Island Chapter of SCACPA Scholarship and Robinson Grant & Co. PA Scholarship.
  • Zachary Nottage, of Charleston, a graduate student at College of Charleston and recipient of the Francis Humphries Scholarship.
  • Sara Rice, of Chapin, a graduate student at Clemson University and recipient of the Hobbs Group, PA Scholarship in Memory of Malynda Mills Grimsley, CPA, CVA.
  • Geogrgiana Sellers, of Irmo, a senior at the University of South Carolina and recipient of the Sheheen Hancock & Godwin Scholarship.
  • Anna Valentine, of Williston, a senior at Lander University and recipient of the Ray Waters Scholarship.
  • William West, of Murrells Inlet, a senior at Coastal Carolina University and recipient of the Joe Jackson Memorial Scholarship, which is the highest honor awarded to the top recipient.
  • Lauren Williamson, of Leesville, a graduate student at Clemson University and recipient of the Edgar Vaughn Scholarship and S.C. Association of CPAs Scholarship.

Scholarship recipients must be South Carolina residents and possess a GPA of no less than 3.25 overall, with a GPA in accounting of no less than 3.5. Recipients must apply annually and scholarships are not renewable.
