The Sea Island Chapter of SCACPA has contributed $6,500 to the Educational Fund allowing the chapter to reach a total contribution goal of $10,000, creating an endowed, named scholarship for the chapter.
This scholarship is to be awarded to a student whose permanent address is within the chapter area, and/or who is attending a SC College or University in the Chapter area, majoring in accounting. The SCACPA Educational Fund, Inc. scholarship criteria are as follows:
• Must be a SC resident
• Rising junior or senior majoring in accounting (or Master’s Degree student) at a South Carolina College or university
• GPA of no less than 3.25 overall (on a 4.0 scale)
• GPA in accounting no less than 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
“The Sea Island Chapter is displaying leadership and vision in creating this scholarship that will help accounting students reach their goals,” said Erin Hardwick, executive director of SCACPA.
The scholarship application for the 2011-2012 year will be available on the SCACPA Web site, www.scacpa.org in January. The deadline to apply is June 1, 2011.
