To serve a growing community by developing, planning, and supervising a comprehensive and diversified internal audit program. The department provides consulting and audit services that help the county reduce risk through proper internal controls and promote responsibility and accountability through efficient use of resources. The Director will determine if county operations are performing in an effective and efficient manner, are in compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations, and are meeting reasonably established goals and objectives. Minimum Qualifications: Four-year degree in accounting, finance, business or economics; four years of experience in auditing (preferably in local government): and three years of experience in supervisory management. Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or current Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is required. It is preferred that candidates have a master’s degree and certification as a CGAP, CMA, and/or CFE, with at least three years of experience in Information Systems Auditing.
