The Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet
Cabinet members are "next generation" accountants. These are CPAs on the go, who will be hosting networking and social events throughout the state. While remaining quite focused on its goals, the Cabinet also believes that the CPA profession is only as engaging as you make it-and they have decided to make it fun! Apply today or tell your rising starts about the new SCACPA Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet. Because when you give an emerging leader the right tools to grow and succeed, you are building a stronger future for your profession.
Goals of the Cabinet
Our mission is four-fold:
- To increase membership and participation in SCACPA by providing young CPAs with networking and leadership development opportunities;
- To enhance the value of Association membership for young members;
- To inform the Association leadership about issues important to its young members; and
- To develop future leaders of the Association, the profession and the community.
Young CPAs (SCACPA members ages 35 and younger) represent more than 700 of our membership, nearly 19%.
Calling All Rising Stars!
The South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) created the Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet to prepare young professionals for positions of leadership in the profession, the association, the community and the world. As young staff embark on their CPA career path, the Leadership Cabinet offers an enriching environment where participants learn new skills, access resources and shape ideas for the future. This unique two-year program combines in-person meetings, the opportunity to interact with CPAs across the state, and online shared experiences.Innovative Learning and Giving
The primary delivery mechanism of the Leadership Cabinet education will be through in-person meetings four times each year, with electronic communication in-between meetings. Over the course of the two-year program, members will have the opportunity to gather at CPA Day at the State House, the SCACPA Annual Summit & Membership Meeting and its own exclusive leadership retreat.
All Cabinet members will serve on one committee per year. Each program-oriented committee will provide at least one program for the general Young CPAs membership during the year.
