The 2011 Nomination Form is now available by clicking the button to the left. Please be as thorough as possible when submitting nomination cover forms and supporting documentation. It is strongly recommended that supporting documentation be included. Résumés are not required, but are recommended. Public Service

The Public Service Award is given to a SCACPA member who has made a difference in his or her community.  SCACPA is seeking nominations for those individuals known to be actively involved in their communities, whether in humanitarian, civic, government, church or professional activities.
To be eligible for the Public Service Award, your nominee must exhibit:

  • Leadership:  The importance of positions held by nominee and initiative shown
  • Impact: Number of people who have benefited from nominee’s activities
  • Involvement:  Amount of time candidate spends on volunteer activities, as well as total number of years he or she has participated in community service
  • A member in good standing of the SC Association of CPAs   

Accounting Educator of the Year

The purpose of this award is to recognize full-time college accounting educators who exhibit excellence in classroom teaching and active involvement in the accounting profession.
To be eligible for the Outstanding Educator Award, your nominee must be:

  • A full-time accounting educator at a college or university.
  • Distinguished for excellence in classroom teaching, motivating students, and educational innovation.
  • Contributing to the accounting profession, as demonstrated by active involvement in professional activities, such as, participation in professional accounting organizations.
  • Someone who has served as a liaison between the classroom and the business world
  • A member in good standing of the SC Association of CPAs  

Outstanding Member in Business & Industry

The purpose of the award is to recognize members in business & industry who have made significant contributions, professional and civic, that reflect the values and ideals to which CPAs should aspire.
To be eligible for the Outstanding Member in Business & Industry, your nominee must be:

  • Model objectivity and ethical commitment of the profession
  • Create value by managing technology and other resources
  • Provides vision using knowledge of broad business issues
  • Champions new methods and solutions
  • Inspires and motivates others to excellence
  • A member in good standing of the SC Association of CPAs  

Service to the Profession

SCACPA’s most prestigious award is presented to a member whose public service, professional conduct, and time and effort devoted to the profession have contributed so significantly that special recognition is deserving. 
To be eligible for the Service to the Profession Award, your nominee must:

  • Show outstanding commitment to SCACPA and the accounting profession.
  • Given outstanding service to the profession, or could be recognized for a single accomplishment that came to fruition. The accomplishment must have resulted in significant impact on the profession.
  • The individual may be recognized for longevity and dedication of service. Such service must be distinctive and exceedingly above the services provided by his/her contemporaries.
  • The individual is one who upholds the highest standards of the accounting profession.
  • A member in good standing of the SC Association of CPAs  

Young CPA Award

The purpose of the award is to recognize a young member who displays exceptional leadership qualities through their involvement in SCACPA as well as the community at large.
The nominee must:

  • Be 35 years of age or younger at the time of application,
  • Be a licensed CPA and residing in the state of South Carolina,
  • Be a member of SCACPA
  • Exhibit discernable leadership qualities in the profession as well as the community.
