The SCACPA Educational Fund exists to advance and promote accounting education. Each year scholarships are granted to well-deserving students from across the state. The funds we give are a result of established endowments as well as annual donations from members of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. more information

The Central Chapter of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants announces a second endowed scholarship to SCACPA’s Educational Fund, Inc.

The Central Chapter currently funds a $2,500 scholarship to be awarded to a student whose permanent address is within the chapter area and who is attending a College or University in the Chapter area, preferably both. The SCACPA Educational Fund, Inc. scholarship criteria are as follows:

• Must be a SC resident
• Rising junior or senior majoring in accounting (or Master’s Degree student) at a South Carolina College or university
• GPA of no less than 3.25 overall (on a 4.0 scale)
• GPA in accounting no less than 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)

The second endowed scholarship is specifically for a graduate student who meets the above criteria. This scholarship from the Central Chapter displays leadership for the profession and goes a long way toward helping many accounting students over the years to come.

The Scholarship application for the 2012-2013 year will be available on the SCACPA web site, www.scacpa.org in January.
The deadline to apply is June 1, 2012.
