Erin Hardwick Pate, CAE
Chief Executive Officer
Erin is the chief staff executive and answers to the board of directors. Directing the lobbying team at the General Assembly and representing the association with the State Board of Accountancy, Erin also serves as staff liaison for the Behavioral Standards, Legislative and Advocacy, Long Range Planning, Managing Partners, Nominating, State and Local Tax, and Political Action Committees. A native of Cheraw, SC, she received a BA from the University of South Carolina and focused her career on association management. She recently received the Certified Association Executive credential which is the highest professional credential in the association industry. An outdoor enthusiast, Erin loves gardening, golf, gourmet cooking and Gamecock football.
Reva Brennan, MPA, CAE, IOM
Chief Operating Officer
Reva is responsible for SCACPA operations and human resource oversight under direction of the chief executive officer. She serves as liaison to the CPE Committee, Business Valuation & Forensic and Litigation Services Task Force, Long Range Planning Task Force, Managing Partners Task Force, Members in Industry Task Force, and Taxation Committee. Having received her undergraduate degree from Columbia College and graduate degree from the University of South Carolina, it’s no surprise Reva is a Gamecock fan. As a children’s ministry team leader and tutor she enjoys spending time with children and shaping their futures. However, her favorite thing…hands down…is spending time with her family.
April C. Cox
April works with the chief operating officer in planning and administering SCACPA's CPE program, including seminars, conferences, special events, customized training and self-study programs. She serves as staff liaison for SCACPA’s Technical Standards Committee, Business Valuations Task Force, Personal Financial Planning Task Force, and is co-staff liaison of the CPE Committee. April has five years experience in hotel event management and holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management from the University of South Carolina. When she’s not at work, you can find April traveling, spending time with her husband, and going to Gamecock football games.
Karen Hancock, CPA
Karen is a North Carolina native and a graduate of Western Carolina University. She received her CPA license in 1999 and has worked in private industry and public accounting since moving to Columbia in 1983. Karen directs the financial affairs of the S.C. Association of CPA’s and serves as key staff liaison for IT projects and support. Along with the chief executive officer, Karen develops and monitors budgets and estimates of revenues and expenses throughout the fiscal year. Away from work, Karen enjoys activities in the company of her two canine “children,” Jesse and Lulu.
Membership & Communications Coordinator
As membership and communications coordinator, Kristi is responsible for managing the SCACPA website, as well as electronic communications and social media. She also assists with member recruitment campaigns and processes new member applications. She previously served as online advertising manager at Push Digital, a political consulting firm in Columbia. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she earned a bachelor's in public relations. Outside of the office, Kristi enjoys cheering on the Gamecocks, traveling and spoiling her Yorkie, Brutus.
Peer Review Manager
Glenna began her career as a legal secretary before becoming director of education for the S.C. Realtors Association, where among many other duties she was responsible for Professional Standards procedures implementation, instruction and mediation. Prior to joining SCACPA, Glenna spent eight years with the Home Builders Institute, managing two large federal grants that help train and place individuals in the home building industry. In addition to her full-time work, for the past seven years she worked as a part-time supervisor at USC’s Institute for Public Service and Policy Research Survey Lab. Glenna heads SCACPA's peer review program, staffs the Education Fund Committee and assists with the CPA-PAC and Key Person Contact programs. An avid Clemson fan, Glenna enjoys Clemson football and spending time with her family and friends.
Sandra P. Oxner, CMP, CMMM
Chapter and Events Manager
Sandra has been in the position of chapter and events manager since January 1, 2010. She has assisted SCACPA intermittently since 2007 after retiring from the South Carolina School Boards Association. At SCACPA, Sandra works with volunteer leaders of the eight regional chapters to plan and execute annual seminars. She also plans and executes three statewide member events and recruits sponsors and exhibitors. In her spare time, Sandra participates with the volunteer leadership team for Christian Meeting and Conventions Association, for a local Meeting Planners Network and with Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia. She loves to travel, read and spend time with her husband of 51 years, four children and 8 grandchildren.
Director of Marketing & Member Services
Maureen is responsible for leading and managing SCACPA’s marketing initiatives and member services including membership recruitment and retention, benefits and outreach programs. Maureen also oversees SCACPA’s quarterly magazine, The CPA Report. She serves as staff liaison for the Accounting Careers/Academic Relations Task Force, the Benefits Committee, the Membership Committee, Editorial Board Task Force and the Financial Literacy Task Force. A native of Pittsburgh, Maureen is a graduate of Ohio University. She enjoys spending time with her family, boating on Lake Murray and ballroom dancing (or at least attempting to).
Office & Member Services Assistant
Kay is the first point of contact for SCACPA members, non-members, vendors and guests in the office. She processes member information and renewals, assists staff members with special projects and oversees office operations. Kay has over 30 years of experience in office management and administration in both the non-profit and profit fields. She most recently served as the accounting manager with Scott Law Firm. Prior to that, she worked with the Psaras Foundation for five years. She is originally from Chapel Hill, N.C. In her spare time, Kay enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with family. She and her husband, Phil, have two children and one grandchild.
