Erin Hardwick, CAE

Erin is the chief staff executive and answers to the board of directors. Directing the lobbying team at the General Assembly and representing the association with the State Board of Accountancy, Erin also serves as staff liaison for the Behavioral Standards, Legislative and Advocacy, Long Range Planning, Managing Partners, Nominating, State and Local Tax, and Political Action Committees.  A native of Cheraw, SC, she received a BA from the University of South Carolina and focused her career on association management.  She recently received the Certified Association Executive credential which is the highest professional credential in the association industry. An outdoor enthusiast, Erin loves gardening, golf, gourmet cooking and Gamecock football. 

 

Reva Brennan, MPA, CAE, IOM

Reva is responsible for SCACPA operations and human resource oversight under direction of the Executive Director. She serves as liaison to the CPE Committee, Business Valuation & Forensic and Litigation Services Task Force, Long Range Planning Task Force, Managing Partners Task Force, Members in Industry Task Force, and Taxation Task Force. Having received her undergraduate degree from Columbia College and graduate degree from the University of South Carolina, it’s no surprise Reva is a Gamecock fan. As a children’s ministry team leader and Girl Scout member she enjoys spending time with children and shaping their futures.  However, her favorite thing…hands down…is spending time with her family.

Karen Hancock, CPA

Karen is a North Carolina native and a graduate of Western Carolina University.  She has been a CPA for ten years and has worked in private industry and public accounting since moving to Columbia in 1983.  Karen directs the financial affairs of the SC Association of CPA’s and serves as key staff liaison for IT projects and support.  Along with the Executive Director, Karen develops and monitors budgets and estimates of revenues and expenses throughout the fiscal year. Away from work, Karen enjoys activities in the company of her two canine “children,” Jesse and Lulu.

April works with the Associate Director in planning and administering SCACPA's CPE program, including seminars, conferences, special events, customized training and self-study programs. She serves as staff liaison for SCACPA’s Technical Standards Committee, Business Valuations Task Force, Personal Financial Planning Task Force, and is co-staff liaison of the CPE Committee. April has five years experience in hotel event management and holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management from the University of South Carolina.  When she’s not at work, you can find April traveling, spending time with her husband, and going to Gamecock football games.

Glenna Minor

Glenna began her career as a legal secretary before becoming director of education for the SC Realtors Association, where among many other duties she was responsible for Professional Standards procedures implementation, instruction and mediation. Prior to joining SCACPA, Glenna spent eight years with the Home Builders Institute, managing two large federal grants that help train and place individuals in the home building industry. In addition to her full time work, for the past seven years she worked as a part-time supervisor at USC’s Institute for Public Service and Policy Research Survey Lab. Glenna heads SCACPA's peer review program, staffs the Education Fund Committee and assists with the CPA-PAC and Key Person Contact programs. An avid Clemson fan, Glenna enjoys Clemson football and spending time with her family and friends.

 

 

 

Katherine M. Swartz, CAE

Currently the member services director for SCACPA, Katherine oversees SCACPA’s membership retention and recruitment programs; serves as staff liaison to the Young CPAs Leadership Cabinet, Membership Committee and Benefits Committee; acts as managing editor of The CPA Report magazine and works with SCACPA’s firm administrators. Katherine’s roles also include a number of outreach initiatives. A native Columbian, Katherine is a graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Mass Communications and Information Studies (CMCIS). Katherine is actively involved in the Midlands community, currently serving as immediate past chair of Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR). She is an organizational liaison to the Columbia Talent Magnet Project and the Midlands Young Professionals Alliance, while serving as a board member of the Good to Great Foundation. The proud parent of three pets, Mako, Dora and Mr. Gato (AKA The Small Zoo), Katherine spends her free time cooking and enjoying meals and wine with family and friends, playing, traveling, reading, toying with social media, and as of late getting back into dance training.

Emily Allen

Emily is responsible for coordinating an integrated electronic media presence for SCACPA. Among other e-communications, Emily coordinates the production and dissemination of the monthly e-newsletter (Current Assets) and the weekly Tuesday Teaser. Emily also updates Web site content, coordinates social media activities, serves as staff liaison for the Awards Committee and provides marketing and communication support.  She holds a BS degree from Columbia College and loves outdoor activities including horseback riding, SCUBA diving, and spending time with her two dogs (Choco and Lucy) and cat (Rigley).

Sandra P. Oxner, CMP, CMMM

Sandra has been in the position of Chapter and Special Events Coordinator since January 1, 2010. She has assisted SCACPA intermittently since 2007 after retiring from the South Carolina School Boards Association. At SCACPA, Sandra works with volunteer leaders of the 8 regional chapters to plan and execute annual seminars. She also plans and executes three statewide “member” events, and recruits sponsors and exhibitors. In her spare time, Sandra participates with the volunteer leadership team for Christian Meeting and Conventions Association, for a local Meeting Planners Network and with Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia. She loves to travel, read and spend time with her husband of 49 years, four children and 8 grandchildren.
