| August 4, 2010 Finance Director Calhoun County will be accepting applications and/or resumes for the position of Finance Director. This involves responsibility for planning, scheduling, supervising and participating in all phases of the County’s fiscal activities. The applicant will have several years experience in governmental accounting and budgeting. Must be proficient in Excel, Word , and be able to quickly learn the County’s financial system software. It is highly desired that the applicant will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5 years of accounting experience, C.P.A. certification or a Master’s degree. This job requires being able to exercise considerable independent judgment in planning, installing, revising and maintaining accounting systems and procedures, and in the preparation of monthly financial statement and reports within the County’s policies and objectives and legal directives. Must be able to plan, organize, assign, supervise and review the work of a staff of employees engaged in maintaining he general ledger, payroll, retirement administration, receipt and disbursement of funds, budgetary control, and numerous subsidiary accounts for all departments and funds of the County. A hands-on management style is required. Must be able to develop and interpret policies, methods, procedures and work performance for the administration and operation of the department and assist with the annual audit.
